The drab autumnal look was starting to get to me. So I decided to go with something more likely to melt your eyeballs. Enjoy!

So, we got married. It was awesome. I spent six months preparing against the possibility of non-awesomeness, and all was awesome. I must say, people in the "wedding industry," -- caterers, florists, photographers, are in a lawyer-like category for getting stuff done. As a associate in a law firm, basically my entire job is to chase after people more airy and flighty than I, and browbeat them into getting done all the mundane and worldly things that actually need to happen if they are to successfully represent clients. I arrived at the wedding site on Sunday ready to ride herd, albeit without sufficient time to do so (just getting into my dress was a feat deserving of an award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers), only to find that the caterer had dispatched a veritable army of People Who Were On Top of It, the florist was already there with arrangements of surpassing beauty, the cellist, photographer, and DJ were on-site, and although we had to move the ceremony up by ten minutes in order to skirt an advancing thunderstorm, everything went beautifully. The food was good, the music good, the people ate and danced, and Jeff and I said yesyesyesyes, although in a happy, wilfull way and not a creepy Faulknerian fashion.
Here is a wee picture, as taken by Jessica Smith, who I hope does not mind this slight intrusion on the sanctity of her Flickr account...

Thank you to all our guests and all the fine people who made the wedding possible and who therefore allowed Jeff and I to become happy nerds eating popcorn on a Tuesday night while watching the National Spelling Bee on ESPN2 with open copies of the 2-volume OED on our laps and big gold rings on our fingers. Huzzah to us and you all. Forever and always. Amen.
