I went on a walk a while ago, and was innocently appreciating my surroundings when this monstrosity heaved into view. I have no doubt that this kind of tree ornamentation was perceived by the neighbor in whose yard it appears as "whimsical," or "charming," but all it did was nearly give me a heart attack. I have no desire to move to Middle Earth and as such do not need pseudo-ents stationed at the street corners in some attempt to jolly me through such a fantasy. In sum, not cool. Rather, freaky! Ahh!
