Work work work, I do so much work. Came up with a final order for A2O last night, and did a final round of edits. Is that my final final edit? Who knows, but I declare myself "finished for now."
Now I am really working (as in the kind of work they pay me for at my jobby-job). Working from home on a Saturday morning! Bleh. It is a drag but it will make my life easier next week.
Also on the table for the weekend -- finishing the design for Laurel Snyder's new book from No Tell Books, dinner tonight over at Kap and Maggie's, and museuming tomorrow with the Ladies of the Department of Commerce. I am a social butterfly. Flit, flap, flip.

After many thousands of scientists have labored many millions of nights, trying infinite combinations of songs for the perfect blend of emo relationship disasteryness and tropical gloom, I have perfected my Applies to Oranges mix. It will be available soonish.

Y'all will have to wait for beer reports; I still didn't make it over to Ryan's for bath-and-beer fun. Tomorrow afternoon, maybe? Tonight I went out kabobing with J.Kwo and earned her resentment for reminding her of the existence of drum circles.

Happy Friday! Whee!
This weekend I hope to lay
Applies to Oranges to rest. I could probably continue editing it forever, but I think I am about there. I have the poems in two different orders, and I must choose one. Then I will do a last tweaking read-through, and then, dare I say it, c'est fin?
It is time for me to begin working on other projects and thinking new thoughts. I will also get cracking on Big Game this fall; open submissions should be coming soon.

I went to Ryan's this morning to water his plants. Scoots are intact. His locks are sticky. I piled all the mail up and saw to the plants. They look okay, and now they are wet on top of it. Ryan left a half-eaten sandwich in a plastic bag on his couch. I took that outside and threw it away in a trash can on the curb.
There were many people gathered at the 7-11, involved in donut and coffee acquisition.

Me and the eye quack have an appointment at 5:15. Redness has diminished, but it still feels like there is something in my eye, and it's getting a little painful. In the meantime, I'm trying to keep my eye closed, which is giving me a very Popeye sort of look.

Back at work. La-dee-dah. I am also researching opthalmologists. Tomorrow I shall call hither and yon in search of someone with an "MD" slapped on the back of their name to peer at my eye, and perhaps prescribe something for it. Reasonably sure that I have some kind of corneal abrasion...the redness is all concentrated on an area about half the size of a dime, next to the iris of my right eye, it feels like there's sand in my eye, and it's really starting to bug me. It hasn't gotten worse, but it isn't getting better. Feels fine when my eyes are closed,
i.e., whenever I am not constantly raking my eyelid over the suspected scratch.
I am somewhat excited about the prospect of getting to wear an eyepatch for a few days. If I do, I will also wear striped shirts and dig out all of my nautical jewelry.
