I am off to NYC tonight, so if you are there, you should drop everything at 7:30 tonight and come see me read some poems about meat and the sea here:
The Fall Cafe
307 Smith Street
Between Union & President
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
F/G to Carroll Street
Sandra Simonds and Thibault Raoult will also read, so it won't just me me, the meat, and the sea, pleasant as they are.
And if you are not in NYC, you should attend an online book party for the release of A Slice of Cherry Pie -- a mini-anthology of Twin Peaks poems. All the fun will be here at 10 pm UCT.

In other words, I am writing only "mainstream" poetry from now on. And all my poems will have Jesus in them. All. The. Time.

Osip in the jungle
Hacks down so many trees
That the beauty of destruction
Brings him to his knees.
Osip, in the mountains,
Watches speckled trout
Assailed by fierce perspectives
Conquer every doubt.

Friday, September 15, at 7:30 p.m., I will be reading with Sandra Simonds and Thibault Raoult for the Burning Chair Reading Series in Brooklyn. At the same time, at KGB, in Manhattan, Ron Silliman will be reading.
So, know this. You will be judged. Not just by me, and not just by Mr. Silliman, but by God and all his bevy of ink-stained recording angels, by whether you attend my reading, or Mr. Silliman's, or determine to spend your evening in an even more regular manner, say, by renting Molly Ringwald movies and getting totally shitfaced.
Brooklyn vs. Manhattan. The young vs. the restless. The drunken sailor vs. the new sentence. It's an epic struggle.
The details:
The Fall Cafe
307 Smith Street
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn
Fridays, 7:30 PM
Take the F or G Train to Carroll Street, and you'll soon be there. Dinner beforehand? Drinks afterward? Oh yes. Backchannel me and we shall plan many many things.
