What do you think of this? Is it a parody? It has a certain idiot humor (Stanzas 4 -6). A cornball rip-off? (Blackbirds go cheap cheap cheap, and Stanza 3 . . . Ugh!). What about the end . . . the last line makes me think of the end of Ashbery's "Paradoxes and Oxymorons," in the tone it strikes, but the rest of the stanza strikes me as too chatty.

I'm resisting this poem, rather strongly. Should I? Is it because it's using a poem I love to say . . . what? What does this poem say? It's not that I don't think WS should be open for revision, review, and even fun . . . it's just, what's the project? This just reads to me like low-grade New York Schoolery.
